The ARNP misunderstands herpes and HSV2. The blood test is positive only in people who have been infected with the virus. Exposure without infection does not cause a positive result. The 100% accuracy issue is complicated. If strongly positive, the blood test is nearly 100% accurate, but less strongly positive results often are false. Consider a new question that includes your test numbers.

If you antibody to HSV2, you were infected will have the virus in your body for the rest of your life. Virus eruptions can be controlled with medication. If you have symptoms, consult a doctor as the medication requires prescription.
