Typical causes of lower back stiffness and/or pain is muscle sprain/strain and nerve pressure. Good posture is really important to the back, and anytime a person spends significant time in an awkward or not healthy position, the back muscles can experience straining and stiffness and inflammation can press on nerves. Maintain good posture hygiene and do lower back stretches.
