A member asked:

Suspected pericarditis (seeing cardio this week). hand/wrist pain from what feels like circulatory constriction, light dizziness and nausea at times. is this consistent with peri?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Those hand symotoms are not characteristic symptoms of pericarditis. Chest pain which is sharp, stabbing as the heart rubs up against the pericardium is.The pain is lessened by leaning forward. Fever can occur. If a great deal of fluid forms within the pericardial sac, other symptoms follow such as breathing problems, weakness, enlarged neck veins, nausea, palpitations, very low blood pressure
