A member asked:

I accidentally took the 350 mg of iron, instead of the 17 i think it is. i threw the 350 mg away. dr, didnt prescribe it. its the first time taking it, cause i was feeling tired. will i be ok? im worried....ty?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Taking one iron pill will not do any damage, other than mild stomach upset. 17 mg may not be sufficient to make up iron deficiency, if you have one. Depending on the severity of deficiency and your response to oral iron, you doctor may consider giving you all the needed iron in one intravenous infusion. Wish you good health!
