Dr. Ron Eaker answered

Disruptions in insulin are often secondary to the original cause of pcos which is not ovulating. Any condition that disrupts ovulation can lead to the symptoms associated with pcos like disruption of periods, acne, hair growth, weight gain, and disruptions of blood sugar. Attention to really be directed more towards the cause of not ovulating regularly.
