Hard to say sight unseen, but single sided (unilateral) skin “sensitivity” x several days at age 67 may be early stage of Zoster (Shingles). To primary doc or Walk-in Clinic (suggest diagnosis to them - they may not recognize in the absence of an obvious rash)
