Your question confuses me, because the period comes at the time one is taking the placebo pills. If you have breakthrough bleeding at other times, you need a different BCP. See a trusted MD.

"Breakthrough bleeding" or "spotting" can occur with taking low dose oral contraceptives by not being punctual taking them during a given pack cycle. Taking them without using placebo intervals is not harmful beyond conditions inherent in taking BCP's in general. Take the pill within the hour of the previous day's pill to avoid bleeding, as the dose in each pill is low, causing the bleeding.
