During pregnancy, there are various household things you should avoid. Litter boxes (can contain toxoplasmosis), fumes from paint, harsh cleaning supplies and drain openers, outdoor gardening, and dusty/smoky environments. Houseplants and their store bought potting soil are typically safe for pregnant persons. Make sure after handling any soil, though, you wash your hands.
