With that maneuver you could be moving ear wax, or causing pressure changes in the middle ear, or affecting the eustachian tubes in the back of the upper nasal passages connecting to the middle ear. I suggest you cease performing that maneuver. If ear symptoms persist, have a physician or ENT specialist examine your ear drum. Wax,if present, can be removed.
