A member asked:

I had prk april 13 and i was told by my surgeons office to use artificial tears every couple hours until at least december. i thinks that's a long time. is this consistent with what most surgeons would say post prk?

After prk dryness can occur. The use of prolonged artificial tear application is not uncommon and will do no harm. Will keep you comfortable.

Yes -lubrication drops help improve vision - and using these drops is often helpful. It helps the healing process. So I would recommend that in general - artificial tears are helpful after PRK, as well as cataract surgery, LASIK, SMILE, Crosslinking, etc
