Had a bug bite for like a month now went away but remained as a blue / purple dot a bit raised but definitely not as much as before? its the size of a pen tip, a blue / purple dot from the bug bite?

If it is resolving, you could watch and wait. However, the unknown is the nature of the bug that bit you. If it was a tick it would be prudent to see your doctor to determine if you need prophylactic antibiotics.
