There are many things that can delay your period. Pregnancy should always be considered first if possible. That being said, depression causes chronic increases in cortisol (“stress hormone”) levels, and this chronic inflammation and alteration of hormonal responses has the potential to impact periods. Please consult your doctor to explore all of the possible causes and if treatment is indicated.
