I am prescribed adderall ir 20mg 2x a day. can the adderal cause bloating and/or swelling or retain fluid? if so, what can i take or do to try to subside these reactions? tia?

Many potential side effects for adderall are listed, but fluid retention is not one of them. Your hormones may play a role in fluid retention. Avoid salty foods&beverages,don't add salt. Taking a low dose diuretic a week before your period should prevent excess fluid retention. Discuss this with your MD or gynecologist. Take a potassium supplement with the diuretic.

These are not common side effects of Adderal . Had you previously had these symptoms before starting this medication .
