Hello ive had a painful red hole in the tissue of my mouth for a week now. the surrounding area has been in pain aswell. along with that, i have swollen and tender lymph nodes. what could i have ?

Your description is extremely vague, as where is the lesion located and what is the size? It may be an aphthous ulcer which usually resolves on its own in about two weeks. It the lesion is still present after two weeks please see your dentist.
