A member asked:

When i shave after not shaving for 1+ days, red blotches around my mouth (perioral dermatitis?) are revealed. they fade away provided that i keep on shaving. it *seems* that they develop underneath the unshaven whiskers and are not caused by shaving?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

could be an irritant dermatitis secondary to the trauma from the razor. see dermatologist for eval and poss tx. certain shaving creams and proper shaving techniques might help alleviate this problem.
