How long has this been going on? If it only started in the past days to week or 2, it may be a muscle strain that will get better if you avoid straining it, picking up anything, etc. If it is a muscle strain, you should notice improvement after resting it for a week or so. If it has been going on longer than that and/or rest does not improve it, then see your doctor to find out what the problem is
