Because of the non-adherence to therapy, the HIV disease is likely not under good control. The symptoms you describe could be due to an opportunistic infection-one that is present due to the low immunity. Your friend needs to go to the nearest ER right away! This is imperative for the infection to be diagnosed and treated immediately! This could be life-threatening so please take him to the ER now
