You need to take in enough fluid value daily (in foods or drink) to pee every 6 hrs or so. Anything more is sometimes offered as good practice but I find silly. If you find making pee a good use of your time drink as much as you wish. There are a few health conditions that require constant fluid intake to avoid dehydration but these are rare.

Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless. Drinking more will not bring any more benefit. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Wish you good health!

It is very hard to drink too much water. Water intoxication usually is the realm of mental illness and an uncontrollable urge to keep drinking. Almost anyone else will have sufficient kidney function to eliminate extra water. Hot climates, fever and other "insensible" water losses may increase your basal requirements, but once your urine is a light lemon color or clear, it should be enough.
