The risk of you getting COVID from that exposure would be low-even if we assume the baby had COVID (which is likely not the case as there are many other reasons for a baby to be coughing). Very little of the virus in the droplets from the cough would get to you from an open car window making the risk of getting the virus low. Get vaccinated to make your risk even smaller!

I agree, the baby is unlikely to generate a sufficient aerosol while passing by your window to cause illness. Have a COVID 19 and Influenza vaccination ( at the start of flu season). Avoid crowds, use good hand washing and hand sanitizer. Watch for signs of cough, fever and runny nose. Monitor your temperature while ill.
