A member asked:

Can you have tendonitis without any sort of redness & swelling?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most tendon problems are actually tendinosis, microscopic tears of the tendon when it’s overloaded by sudden or heavy force & not tendonitis, inflammation of the tendon. Tendinitis may have redness & swelling, is minor, and goes away usually on its own quickly. Tendinosis usually has no redness or swelling & can linger until tendon fibers repair & reorganize. Eccentric strengthen speeds healing.
