Stabbing pain under right ribs for 5 days. every time i breathe in it feels like a stabbing pain. went to er &all blood work &cat scan was normal. pain is also in the back under the ribs. had a normal bm this morning. (no gallbladder) what is this?

I assume there has been no injury to your rib cage and you have no lung infection symptoms such as cough,chills,fever,shortness of breath. A common cause of your type of sharp,shooting chest pain on a deep breath is a pinched intercostal nerve or muscle that runs between 2ribs. These usually resolve on their own after several days or so. Avoid straining your rib cage. Get reexamined as needed.
