Epipens are a short term method for preventing full anaphylaxis that will allow you to get to the hospital and get further treatment. Once an epipen is used, the patient will need to be transported to a medical facility for full evaluation and potential additional treatment of the allergic reaction. With Vespids, it is optimal to use the epipen in the major muscle group above the sting site.

Yes, self-injectable epinephrine (EpiPen, Auvi-Q) will treat an anaphylactic reaction regardless of the trigger (food, latex, medications, vespid, etc). Centipede induced anaphylaxis is rare but has been reported, particularly in Japan.
