I have a ingrown toe nail. is there any cure other than removing nail?

Sometimes a wedge procedure can preserve the nail. If the area is inflamed, antibiotics& soaks are often used to reduce the swelling. Scissors and hemostats are then used to remove imbedded side of the nail with a cut starting at few mm toward the mid-nail and angled to the base/side. The wedge is pulled out & the area left to heal. The bulk of the remaining nail/nailbed is preserved.

Most of the time just the edge of the nail is removed. This is done under local anesthesia and is painless. If infected antibiotics may be used.
