A member asked:

My ex husband has stage 3 alc and has a large inguinal hernia he can not have a transplant due to religious issues he has stopped drinking for 1 year in march as soon as he was diagnosed his hernia is also inoperable what is life expectancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nobody can say for sure but the one qualified to give you the best answer is his treating Doctor.ALC is certainly of poor prognosis, progressive&needs a transplant. Regardless of the life expectancy, you should organize the Power of Attorney,Advance Directive, resuscitation status distribution of assets, hospice plans etc.For the hernia, Get a supportive truss that may help relieve the symptoms.
