If you have large amounts of mucus in the stool with associated diarrhea intestinal pathology, including pathological bacterial or parasitic infections,are likely. If it's only a small amount and your bowel movements are otherwise normal, nonserious causes are likely. It could even be caused by your history if anal fissure.
