How confident are doctors using the ca27-29 test for breast cancer reoccurrence? i'm getting mixed answers like "not reliable", "false positives". if the test is so unreliable why do dr's still use it?

CA27-29 is a tumor marker. The usefulness of tumor markers in managing Breast cancer is debated as a routine test. In individual patients, tumor markers can provide useful guidance about response to treatment. So Most oncologists use them selectively.
