A member asked:

Ct scan report:"the appendix measured 7 mm at its widest point. periappendicular fatty tissues are homogeneous.at this level, millimetric lymph nodes are observed."what does millimetric lymph nodes mean?does it mean tumor or cancer or something else?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, small lymph nodes near the appendix are normal. There is nothing to suggest cancer in the report. Wish you good health!
