Pelvic inflammatory disease that is not accurately diagnosed or properly treated is a serious situation that wears your body down. You must be treated and followed by a gynecologist. If you don't feel you have had good care, get a new gynecologist. Also either abstain from sexual intercourse all together or see that your sexual partner gets examined for STD and, if present, gets properly treated.
