Cotton stitches will dissolve. Depending upon the thickness of the suture will determine how long it will take to dissolve. It is also a function of your own body and how it dissolves it. Depending how deep they are they can be felt through the skin. And MRI should pick up stitches for viewing . But might be difficult if they’re in the process of dissolving.
