A member asked:

Hello doctor. my question concerns prolactin lab test results. how do i convert iu/ml to ng/ml on prolactin test results? eg 10,000 iu/ml in ng/ml. this is because i recently did the test at 2 different labalatories and i got results in units?

Whatever the unit is used, the lab result should tell you the result is normal or high. I could not find the way to change the result in mIU/L to ng/mL but I can tell you the normal range by each unit used. For male: 58-419 mIU/L or 2 -18 ng/mL For female: 63-561 mIU/L or 2-29 ng/mL
