Pain in xiphoid process when stretching back by reaching up. any thoughts on why?

I assume there's no recent injury or strain. I also would assume there's no significant tenderness of the bottom of the sternum. If this Is the case, it appears that stretching irritates the xiphoid process somewhat but it's not inflamed. Sometimes it's because this piece of cartilage protrudes outward a bit in some people more than others.
