"Home" pregnancy tests do not detect low levels of HCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy testing), but if the test was positive, it may be early pregnancy. At age 42, delayed ovulation is common, and pregnancy may have occurred very late in your last cycle. Obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about possible pregnancy.
