Not necessarily: Both manual and power brushes can be very effective in removing plaque if used correctly. Many people find power brushes to be easier to use, as the brush only needs to be held and guided. Using either brush, however, does not exempt you from having to floss!

Depends: With any toothbrush, the key is consistency and proper technique. Don't be fooled into thinking that an electric toothbrush will do the job for you, you still have to make sure to get to all your teeth and all the surfaces. A manual toothbrush used properly can be just as good.
