Why?: Coconut oil, while better for your cholesterol than corn or processed vegetable oils, is a highly concentrated source of calories at 120 cal/tablespoon. I would focus on eating large amounts of simply prepared fruits and vegetables (heavy salad dressings, casseroles, cheese covered broccoli for example), and dramatically reduce fast food and sweet drinks of any kind. Eat at least 3 meals a day!

Stop coconut oil: The best way to keep weight (w) off is by behavior modification (b). People who lose w without b have more than a 90% chance of gaining back their lost w in 1 year. Find out what causes you to overeat and see if you can engage in activities to avoid doing so. If you can if you can do this you can not only lose w, you will be successful in keeping it off long term. Stop the coconut oil and try b.
