Gaviscon is helpful in acid reflux as it contains alginic acid which makes a floating layer over gastric contents, protecting surroundings from effect of gastric acid. Hope it helps.

You don't describe your symptoms, but I doubt that h pylori has returned. You may have had symptoms of GERD this time and gaviscon advance should help. Avoid spicy and oily foods, caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. Sleep with your chest higher than your belly. Taking omeprazole or famotidine would help prevent recurrent symptoms. Consult a gastroenterologist as needed.
