Fluconazole 150 mg daily for oral thrush is usually effective. However, if the fungal infection is extending down into the esophagus and causing pain with swallowing a much more aggressive dose and management are needed. Be sure to follow up with your doctor after being treated to ensure that the oral thrush has been successfully treated.

Possibly not: Fluconazole’s dosing for thrush is usually close to that -- except that that’s the dose a person takes every day for one to two weeks. There is at least one literature report that suggests that 150 mg as a single dose may work in a very specific group of patients, but the dose you’re describing is not the norm. You may want to clarify with your doctor if you can.
