Vitamin D levels are not included in a Comprehensive metabolic panel and must be ordered separately. Since most persons are deficient in Vitamin D, the result may help you Dr recommend a supplementation level for you.

A normal serum calcium level does not rule out vitamin D deficiency. Given the high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, you could get tested. Alternatively you could take 2000 to 4000 units of vitamin D3 and it will not cause toxicity. Wish you good health!
