No real evidence that it’s bad. The systemic form (IV or oral) often causes stomach upset and, uncommonly, may cause a diarrheal condition termed C. Difficile colitis. However, no evidence that either systemic form exacerbates Crohn’s. The warning about the topical form is simply extrapolated from the IV/oral forms without any direct proof. Of course, absence of proof is not proof of absence!
