Your symptoms are consistent with allergic conjunctivitis. This condition is often due to airborne allergens such as ragweed, mold spores, etc. Some individuals have seasonal allergies with symptoms in the spring or fall when pollen counts are high, while others have year round symptoms due to pet dander, dust mites, etc. Cold compresses, artificial tears, OTC meds and Rx meds are often helpful.
