Slight pain is likely dry eye. Try artificial tears. Mucormycosis is a blinding and sometimes deadly disease that can cause rapid vision loss and orbital swelling. The frequency is on the rise in India after the Covid wave and increased corticosteroid use. If you are not immunocompromised, for instance with diabetes mellitus, the chance of mucormycosis (or aspergillosis) is very unlikely.

Black fungus can lead to eye pain, but most times it is associated with blocked nose. Most people have history of Covid and have been treated with steroids. If you are worried you should be checked by an eye doctor
