A member asked:

If i have a clear contacts prescription, does the same prescription apply to colored contacts? i ordered colored contacts online using the same prescription as my clear contacts, but the dia and bc numbers on the colored contacts weren't the same?

The DIA refers to the overall size of the lens and the BC reflects the curvature of the lens - both parameters influence the tightness or looseness of the lens on the eye. While the vision out of the colored lenses may be similar to the clear lenses, assuming the powers are the same, the fit could be uncomfortably loose or dangerously tight. Before wearing the new lenses, get a CL exam.
