A member asked:

If you rub off a melanoma mole would the area where the mole was heal? and would the mole grow back?

Melanoma is an unpredictable disease in that it can undergo spontaneous regressions. On the other end if you do not remove it completely it has a high risk of local recurrence. If you have rubbed off some growth (such as a blue or black mole), keep a close eye on that site for the next 6 months. Get it removed completely if it grows back in the future.

MELANOMAS DON'T RUB OFF THEY HAVE TO BE SURGICALLY REMOVED. A MOLE OR WART OR FIBROMA CAN BE SCRACTHED OFF.A MELANOMA IS DARK AND RAISED,YOU MAY HAVE A PIGMENTATED MOLE THAT LOOKS LIKE A MELANOMA BUT SEE A DERMATOLOGIST FOR A BIOPSY.
