I'm schedule for an mri w/ and w/o contrast of brain and cervical spine in three weeks. i'm not vaccinated yet but would like to be. could getting the vaccine before the exam be a problem? they're looking for demyelination. thank you?

An appointment for MRI studies is NOT a contraindication for a vaccination of any type. If you were to have a reaction, typically would last no more than 3 days. Get your COVID-19 protection ASAP.

Do not think that vaccination would affect an MRI.

YOUR PROBLEM IS NOT BEING VACCINATED NOW SO GET VACCINATED ASAP THAN GET YOUR MRI.

The likelihood that the vaccine causes a change in the MRI would be extremely small. I would proceed as scheduled with both vaccine and MRI.

The likelihood of the vaccine causing a change in your MRI findings is vanishingly small. Get the vaccine
