MRIs: Closed MRIs tend to be noisy; it's sort of like being inside a truck engine at idle. Open MRIs are less so. Even people who aren't claustrophobic can get a little nervous in a closed scanner. Best thing is to close your eyes and take a nap. It's surprising how easy that is.
