Data is accumulating that most allergic reactions to the Covid Vaccine are mediated primarily by systemic mast cells. This is slightly different than other allergic reactions in that the allergy is based on an immune system overreaction rather than a typical histamine activation. In persons with history of anaphylaxis, vaccines should be given in a Dr's office with meds/O2 ready to counteract.
