Whilst my derm has been clear in his guidance to avoid alcohol whilst on accutane, he said after about 3 days from last dose it would be safe to drink again? that is at no increased risk of damage to liver than a regular person. correct?

The half life is the term used to describe the time needed for a drug to be 1/2 gone from the body. For Accutane it is listed as 24 hrs with some variation person to person. It takes ~4 half lives for a drug to be gone. After 3 days 1/16th of the drug remains.
