A member asked:

Many iron fortified foods that i eat contain calcium. i've been eating these foods with vitamin c to help absorption, but if calcium is in that same fortified food- will that negate 100% of the iron absorption?

Not to worry. Although some studies indicate poor uptake of iron supplements when taken with calcium supplements, it will make little or no difference with normal foods and uptakes. Iron is poorly absorbed, no matter what, yet we still get enough from eating regular foods.
