Ganglion cysts are common and don't have to be removed unless they bother you. The old time physicians used to slam them with a phone book to break them up, but I don't advise anyone to do that.

ganglions are not harmful they are synovial cysts from the wrist joint. No need to treat unless causing pain or located on volar radial wrist where it could compromise radial artery. They can be aspirated but less than 50% successful
