I drank a lot of water, and was urinating a lot the day of my std test. i also urinated 30 minutes prior to producing a urine sample. will this impact the accuracy of my test, and potentially cause a false negative? will i need to retest?

What was tested for? If you are talking about testing urine for gonorrhea and chlamydia, then what you described could result in a false negative. Talk to the doctor who ordered the test and ask for specific instructions for collecting specimen. Wish you good health!
