Was on progesterone and estradiol for menopause, mood swings, night sweats. been off of both meds over 2 weeks. experiencing hot flashes, night sweats again. should i go back on pills? could there be another reason? my obgyn is away?

Although "age 48" is statistically "early" for menopause, sudden stopping of supplemental estrogen taken for perimenopausal relief of " mood swings, night sweats" will result in resumption of withdrawal symptoms. Consult your gyn physican about low dose oral contraceptives , as this may carry one through the adjustment to perimenopause.
